Sheila Brower, 2017 GAR President

Sheila Brower of Marietta is serving as the 2017 President of the Georgia REALTORS®. Sheila is a member of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association (ARA), and is affiliated with Harry Norman, REALTORS®. She is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club and has received the Five Star Circle of Service award three times.

Sheila has an extensive volunteer background with the REALTOR® association and its institutes, societies and councils. She has served on the Executive, Strategic Planning and Budget and Awards committees for the Atlanta REALTORS®, and has served as a Regional Director, chaired the REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee, and served on the State and Local Governmental Affairs Committee for several years for GAR. At the national level, Sheila has served as a Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Tom Price, and has been a member of NAR’s State and Local Issues Committee.

Additionally, Sheila has been an active member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® for many years at the local, state, and national levels. She was President of WCR Georgia in 2007, a member of the Finance Committee for national WCR, and chaired the Outreach & Influence Forum for national WCR.

Despite her hectic real estate schedule, Sheila finds time to give back to her community. She is a member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, American Cancer Society Swordsman Ball committee, and the Cobb County Republican Women - for which she was elected Woman of the Year – to name a few. Additionally, Sheila is a member of the YWCA, where she devotes a significant amount of time to the organization’s domestic violence crises groups.

Sheila is married to Paul Brower, who has served two terms as Chairman of the Georgia Real Estate Commission and is currently a member.  When the work is done, Sheila can be found gardening, relaxing at the lake, traveling with Paul and spending time with their family.

Deb Junkin, GAR Chief Executive Officer

Debra S. “Deb” Junkin has served as the CEO for the Georgia Association of REALTORS® since  January 2010. Deb has more than 18 years of REALTOR® association management experience. She holds the Strategies in Non-Profit Management Certificate from the University of Chicago, is a graduate of Duke University’s Non-Profit Management Program, and holds the REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®.  Deb is a 2017 inductee to the  Dr. Almon ‘Bud” Smith Leadership Society.


In addition to her duties at GAR, Deb currently serves on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Strategic Thinking Advisory Committee, Housing Opportunities Committee, and the AEC State EO Forum. She also serves on the University of Georgia Housing and Demographic Research Center Advisory Board and the Georgia Healthy Homes Strategic Planning Advisory Committee.


Deb actively supports the advocacy objectives of both the state and national associations as a Golden ‘R’ RPAC Hall of Fame investor and a 6-year member of the NAR President’s Circle.

Through active partnering and sharing of resources between all three tiers, our goal is to provide support for the local associations that will result in additional benefits for the membership across the state.,” says Deb. “Through collaboration with the association leadership and staff, we are focused on implementing the directives of the Strategic Plan while growing the association’s assets, enhancing the member value proposition, and expanding the association’s sphere of influence.”

Deb is married to Chip Junkin and together they have seven children ranging in age from 25-36, and four fabulously wonderful grandchildren - granddaughter Bailey and grandsons Elliott, Conner, and Patrick.

In addition to spending time with their ever-expanding family, Deb and Chip enjoy entertaining, traveling, reading and sailing.
