NOTICE TO STUDENTS
Note: Once you have registered for a course, there are NO refunds unless there is a defect with the online provider's course.
Please read the following information carefully to avoid any delay in receiving credit for the course(s) you complete. You must accept the school policies in order to access the computer-based distance learning courses. Once you have registered for a course, there are NO refunds unless there is a defect with the online provider's course.
Georgia Association of REALTORS® is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to offer education programs. It is our goal to provide high quality distant continuing education courses in support of state mandated education programs for ongoing professional competency. Our GREC School number is 271. The school's renewal date is December 31, 2019.
As the courses being offered are independent study programs, no live instructor will be teaching the course. You may call the Georgia Association of REALTORS® at 770-451-1831 to ask any questions you may have.
- You must complete all lessons on the computer by answering each question correctly. Most questions are timed and need to be answered within an allotted time to get credit for the answer.
- Some courses require exams. (See "Grading" below.) If you are taking a class for Post-License credit, your exam must be a proctored exam. Contract us at PIE@garealtor.com or call 770-451-1831.
You must complete the entire course. Most courses do not require an examination. Be sure to read the information about the specific class to know whether passing an exam is part of the course requirements.
Getting Credit for the Course
When you have successfully completed a course, GAR will receive a notice from the online provider - unless the course was taken through NAR and/or REALTOR® University, as explained in the next paragraph. You will then receive an email from GAR stating that Georgia continuing education (CE) credit has been posted. The subject line of that email from GAR will be "Affidavit complete."
Not all courses available through NAR and/or REALTOR® University are eligible for Georgia Continuing Education credit. Please be sure to read the specific course's credit information. For courses through NAR and/or REALTOR® University, CE credit will be posted by NAR and not GAR.
Attendance and Time Limits
Since this program is an independent study program, no classroom attendance is required. School policy requires that students complete all course work within six (6) months from the enrollment date.
Georgia Association of REALTORS® will maintain records for a five-year period. The following information will be maintained: Course taken, student name, license number, date enrolled in course and date completed the course.
Prohibition of Recruiting
No recruiting for employment opportunities is allowed through the Georgia Association of REALTORS® school. Any efforts of recruiting should be reported immediately to the Georgia Association of REALTORS®, 6065 Barfield Road, Atlanta, GA 30328 or directly to the Georgia Real Estate Commission, International Tower-Suite 1000, 229 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30303.
Georgia Association of REALTORS® will not base course fees, entrance standards, or successful completion of a course on a student's race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, or familiar status.
Many courses (but not all) meet state requirements for Georgia continuing education credit. The exact number of hours of credit depends on the course.
Time Limit and Schedule
There is a six-month time limit for receiving technical support. We allow no more than six months to complete a course. Once you begin a course, you can work on the course at any time. There is a bookmark feature so that when you exit a lesson in progress, the computer will return you to the point of exit so that work already completed will not be repeated.
