Financial Assistance Offered for Victims of the Recent Tornados

The National Association of REALTORS® and the Georgia REALTORS® are inviting the victims who have suffered property damage from the recent tornadoes in Georgia to apply for a grant to offset financial damage caused by the storm.

Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following options:

  1. Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the tornado, or;
  2. Rental cost due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the tornado

Relief assistance is limited to a maximum of $1,000 per applicant per household.

Please note this assistance is for housing relief only; other expenses including second mortgages(home equity lines or loans), personal loans, hotel/motel expenses, clothing, appliances, equipment, vehicle purchase, rental or repair and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.

If the application is approved the recipient will be noticed and the check will be sent to the recipient as a joint check to include the mortgage holder or landlord.

The deadline to submit applications is May 31, 2021.
