GAR Partners with REALTORS® Relief Foundation To Offer Disaster Relief Assistance

In partnership with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, GAR is offering housing assistance to Georgia residents who were impacted by the tornadoes that occurred across Georgia on April 12, 13, and 23. The REALTORS® Relief Foundation approved a grant to GAR in the amount of $150,000, and these funds will benefit Georgia residents whose primary residence has been damaged by the storms and tornadoes. Assistance of up to $1,000 is available to qualified applicants* towards one of the following options:

1) Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the recent storms and tornadoes,

OR

2) Rental cost due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the recent tornadoes.

*Qualified applicants are full-time Georgia residents and U.S. citizens, or legally admitted for residence in the United States. GAR membership is not required to receive this benefit.

The deadline for application submissions is July 15, 2020. Applications, supporting documents and any questions should be submitted to JLundy@garealtor.com. The application will need to be saved as a PDF once completed, and sent as a PDF document.

Please note this assistance is for housing relief only; other expenses including second mortgages (home equity lines or loans), clothing, appliances, equipment, vehicle purchase, rental or repair, and/or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.

  2. Local boards/associations whose main office has sustained damage as a result of the tornadoes can also apply for assistance from GAR’s Disaster Relief Fund. Local boards can also apply for funds to provide needed supplies or aid in recovery efforts within their community. Association Executives should contact Jennifer Lundy at GAR to request an application for assistance.
