“Help Save Dean” Email Scam Circulating

It has come to our attention that an email that is spoofing Georgia REALTORS is circulating among members.

The email’s subject is “Help Save Dean.” The email contains an old GAR logo, and a brief paragraph stating that a members’ child is critically ill from medulloblastoma and that a GoFundMe account is set up to help with expenses.

If you receive this email, please report it as spam and discard immediately. If you clicked on anything within the email, please notify your IT service tech or staff at once.

Always look at the actual email address of the sender, not just the display name. In this case, the emails that we have seen actually come from “clown38@optonline.net,” even though the display name is “Geogia Association of REALTORS.”

Finally, please know that GAR will never solicit funds on behalf of an individual.
