The Georgia REALTORS® announce Monica Spillane Cerrone as 2021 REALTOR® of the Year

ATLANTA, Sept.13, 2021 – The Georgia REALTORS® (GAR) recently announced Monica Spillane Cerrone as the 2021 REALTOR® of the Year (ROTY). The announcement was made on Thursday, September 2, 2021, during the Georgia REALTORS® Annual Conference & Expo in Destin, Florida.
“Monica is an excellent representative of Georgia REALTORS®,” said Dorrie Love, 2021 GAR President. “Her dedication to the REALTOR® association, the real estate industry, to her clients and to her community illustrate how hard-working and conscientious she is, and I am delighted that she was selected as the 2021 REALTOR® of the Year.”
Monica was one of thirty-two REALTORS® nominated across Georgia to receive this year’s ROTY award.
“I am so thrilled to have been chosen as this year’s recipient”, said Monica. “I was fortunate that my first Broker encouraged her agents to get involved, and it is that involvement that led to me eventually becoming president of the Savannah Area REALTORS®.”
A current member of the Savannah Area REALTORS®, Monica served as the board’s President in 2011, and was selected as their REALTOR® of the Year in 2019. She has been involved with her board since she became licensed in 2004, and is an Associate Broker with Signature Properties Savannah.
Monica has been involved with the REALTOR® association at the local, state, and national levels and has chaired and served on several committees throughout her tenure as a Georgia REALTOR®. She is active with the Women’s Council of REALTORS® and was named the Savannah Women’s Council of REALTORS® Member of the Year in 2016, and their Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020. Monica is a Women’s Council Leadership Institute graduate. Additionally, she has earned her GRI designation from the Graduate REALTOR® Institute.
Monica adds, “My leadership journey with the Women’s Council of REALTORS® – as well as the education experiences they offer – allowed me to develop leadership skills and share them with my community. Being recognized for doing the things I love to do, and giving back to my community, is truly an honor that I will never forget.
In addition to her REALTOR® association involvement, Monica is actively engaged in her community, currently serving as President of the Coffee Pointe Home Association, a member of the Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire – Wine, Women, and Shoes Fundraising Committee, and serving on the Housing Savannah Task Force. Her additional accomplishments include receiving the Savannah Multi-List Corporation President’s Award in 2012 and 2017, the Savannah Area REALTORS® Charles F. Fulton Award in 2020 and the Savannah Area REALTORS® President’s Award in 2021. Monica was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2021 and has been a major investor since 2006.
