    • SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: GAR Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

    Georgia REALTORS® today announced the appointment of Brad Mock, MPA, as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024. Brad has served as the Senior Director of Governmental Affairs for GAR since 2014. He will succeed Deb Junkin, who will retire on December 31, after 14 years as CEO.

    This past June, GAR President Lisa Scully appointed a CEO Succession Strategy Task Force tasked with the job of identifying and recommending the next CEO of GAR to the Executive Committee for approval. Led by Chair Faron W. King of the Northeast Georgia Board and Vice Chair Arlene Davis of the Altamaha Basin Board, the Task Force partnered with Paramount Consulting to assist with the process of vetting applicants. Out of 261 applicants, eight were initially interviewed, and the field was then narrowed down to four for more in-depth discussions.

    On Friday, October 13, the Task Force presented their top candidate to the GAR Executive Committee for approval, and Brad Mock was unanimously confirmed for the position of CEO.

    “We strongly feel that Brad was the best candidate to lead us forward following the outstanding leadership of Deb Junkin for the past 14 years,” said Faron. “Arlene and I were honored to represent the Task Force to present our recommendation to the Executive Committee, who enthusiastically confirmed our recommendation.”

    In addition to Faron and Arlene, the Task Force was comprised of:
