Faron W. King is the Immediate Past President of the Georgia REALTORS®  and is a member of the Northeast Georgia Board of Realtors(NEGBOR). He is Broker/Owner of Coldwell Banker High Country Realty and has been licensed for 20 years. Faron holds the ABR, CRB, SFR, and SRS designations. Faron completed seven years of service to NEGBOR’s Board of Directors in November 2014 and during his tenure, he served as President, County Director, First Vice President and Treasurer. He was named NEGBOR REALTOR® of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Faron served a two-year term as GAR’s Region 2 Director from 2012-2013, and was the first from his local board to serve on the Executive Committee at the state level.  Faron has served in all GAR vice president positions, and served as Vice Chair of the 100th Anniversary Task Force. Faron was named GAR’s 2013 REALTOR® of the Year, is a graduate of the GAR Leadership Academy, and is in the GARPAC Silver Hall of Fame. He is a Golden R as well as a member of the President’s Circle. Faron has served on NAR’s Risk Management Committee and Broker Involvement Council, and is an NAR Director for Georgia. He was the 2019 Vice Chair of the Large State Forum and a member of the State Leadership Idea Exchange Council. In 2020, Faron is serving on the RPAC Trustees Fundraising Committee for NAR .

Faron’s previous career in property tax administration included several major accomplishments, which he used to segue into his twenty plus years as a REALTOR®. In 1993, he earned the Appraiser IV Designation from the Georgia Department of Revenue and in 1995, he was elected to the Executive Board for the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials (GAAO). From 1995 to 2001, Faron served on GAAO’s Executive Board and went on to be President in 1999 at the age of 32, the youngest in their 54-year history. He was the first attendee from Towns County to graduate from  Leadership Georgia in 1999, and in 2000, he graduated from the Georgia Academy of Economic Development. Faron was a member of the Board of Directors for Towns County Chamber of Commerce from 1997-2004, serving as Chairman in 2001. He was selected as one of Georgia Trend‘s 40 Under 40 in 2004 and was on the Board of Directors for Licklog Players Theater Group from 2003-2005, serving as President in 2006. Faron was commissioned Kentucky Colonel in 2008 by Steven Beshear, the Governor of Kentucky and in 2010, he was selected as an Industry Specialist for Towns County’s Comprehensive Plan. Faron is also a seven-time marathoner with a personal best of 3:27. He has been married to his lovely wife Rebecca since October 1999.
