Karen Hatcher, AHWD, C2EX, CPM

Karen Hatcher is the Regional Director for GAR’s Region 4, representing the Atlanta REALTORS® Association and the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®. She is a primary member of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association.

Karen has served the metro Atlanta area for over a decade. A native of Rochester, NY, she received her bachelor’s in finance from Clark Atlanta University. She later earned a master’s in business administration with a concentration in real estate from Georgia State University. In 2008, Karen founded Sovereign Realty & Management as a full-service real estate investment and management company, driven by the motto “Improving Lives, Transforming Communities – The Sovereign Way.”

As the head broker and CEO of Sovereign Realty & Management, Karen’s leadership and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous accolades, including achieving #6 Top 10 Producer Team Units Closed in both 2023 and 2024. In 2025, she received the prestigious Phoenix Award from the Atlanta REALTORS® Association, recognizing her decade-long achievement as a Top Producer.

Karen has received the Atlanta Business Chronicle Woman of Influence, Power 100, and the Atlanta Business League Woman of Influence. Giving generously to her community, she serves in multiple leadership roles across numerous real estate organizations. In 2022, Karen made history as the first African American female president of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association during its 112th year.

With her husband Dr. Michael Hatcher, Karen co-founded the Keep Building Foundation — a nonprofit that promotes excellence and equity for future builders and real estate developers. She also volunteers at Habitat for Humanity, and Hosea Feed The Hungry, among other charitable organizations in Atlanta.
