GAR Community Heroes: Jake Rowland of Savannah
In the heart of Georgia’s real estate community, Savannah REALTOR® Jake Rowland embodies what it truly means to be a REALTOR® hero. A dedicated associate broker and director of operations for Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners, Jake has not only built a thriving career but has also made an extraordinary impact beyond the industry.
Several years ago, while working at a furniture store at the beginning his real estate career, Jake met Dayna Cohen, a customer who was facing kidney failure and urgently needed a transplant. Without hesitation, Jake stepped forward as a potential donor. After weeks of testing, he was confirmed as a direct match, and in August, he gave Dayna the ultimate gift: a second chance at life. His selflessness and compassion turned a simple friendship into a life-saving bond, showcasing the true spirit of service that defines so many REALTORS®.
But Jake and Dayna’s journey didn’t stop at the operating room doors. Today, they are passionate advocates for kidney health and organ donation, using their experience to inspire others. Jake mentors prospective living donors, while Dayna raises awareness about the importance of saying “yes” to organ donation. His courage was recently recognized by Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners with the Leslie Graddick & Tara Hughes Courage Award—an honor reflecting his dedication to making a difference. As March marks National Kidney Month, their story is a testament to the power of kindness, connection, and the incredible impact REALTORS® can have far beyond the closing table.
Do you know a Georgia REALTOR® who has done something extraordinary for another person or group? We’d love to hear about it! Please send their information and photo to Communications Manager Emma Miller at for a chance to be featured in our new “GAR Community Heroes” series, which we plan to release periodically.
