The Georgia REALTORS® Announces Peggy Slappey as the 2023 REALTOR® of the Year

ATLANTA, Sept. 7, 2023 – The Georgia REALTORS® (GAR), the largest and leading professional association for real estate agents in the state, recently announced Peggy Slappey as the 2023 REALTOR® of the Year (ROTY). The announcement was made on Thursday, September 7, 2023, during the Georgia REALTORS® Annual Conference & Expo in Savannah, Georgia.

“On behalf of the Georgia REALTORS®, I extend my sincere congratulations to Peggy Slappey for being named the REALTOR® of the Year. Peggy is a true role model for our members and an outstanding representative of the values we uphold as REALTORS®,” said Lisa Scully, 2023 GAR President.

Peggy was one of 25 REALTORS® nominated across Georgia to receive this year’s ROTY award.

“I am deeply honored to receive the REALTOR® of the Year Award from the Georgia REALTORS®,” said Peggy Slappey. “REALTORS® continuously strive to become and remain informed on issues affecting real estate and, as knowledgeable professionals, we willingly share the fruit of our experience and study with others. I am grateful for the trust and support of my colleagues and clients, and I remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in everything I do.”

Peggy is involved with the REALTOR® association at the local, state, and national levels and has chaired and served on several committees throughout her tenure as a Georgia REALTOR®. She is active with the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of REALTORS® (NAMAR) and was named their REALTOR® of the Year Management in 2009 and 2022, and their Captain of Industry in 2010. Additionally, she earned her Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation from the Real Estate Business Institute. An ardent supporter of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) since 1983, she is currently a Crystal R and a member of NAR’s President Circle since 2015. Peggy was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2018 and has been a major investor for the last 14 years. Additional REALTOR accolades include being named Gwinnett Women’s Council Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014, as well as Georgia Women’s Council Entrepreneur of the Year in 2021.

In addition to her REALTOR® association involvement, Peggy is actively engaged in her community, currently supporting and volunteering for Eagle Ranch Children’s Residential program and serving Braselton Community Improvement District for 10 years. Her additional business accomplishments include receiving the Best of Gwinnett REALTOR Award from 2013 through 2022, Christian City Children’s Village Humanitarian Award in 2014, Greater Atlanta HBA Sales and Marketing Sales Manager of the Year in 2007, Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter “Power of One” Award, and was a nominee for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year in 2019.
