ATLANTA, August 31, 2022 – The Georgia REALTORS® (GAR) recently announced Nakia Brooks as the 2022 Georgia REALTOR® of the Year (ROTY). The announcement was made on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, during the Georgia REALTORS® Annual Conference & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee.

“We are proud to have Nakia Brooks as our 2022 REALTOR® of the Year”, said Joey Tucker, 2022 President of the Georgia REALTORS®. “Nakia is an exemplary representative of what it means to be a Georgia REALTOR® and has proved that through his dedication to the association, his community, and the real estate industry. He is more than deserving of this honor.”

Nakia was one of thirty-three REALTORS® from across the state who were nominated to receive the ROTY award “It’s an honor and a privilege to be named the Georgia REALTOR®’s 2022 REALTOR of the Year,” he said.  “I have been overwhelmed with an outpouring of congratulations and love. For me, this award is a pinnacle of my real estate career knowing that so few have been able to achieve this prestigious award in the 100+ year history of GAR!”

Nakia is the Qualifying Broker for BKG Real Estate in Buford. He is a member of ten local REALTOR® boards across Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Nakia adds, “I am thankful for all the members of the GAR Special Recognition committee who had the hard task of selecting the 2022 winner. I am thankful for all our members at NAMAR who believed in me enough to elevate me, and I can’t wait to serve those members in 2023 as President!”

Along with his REALTOR® association involvement, Nakia is an active member of his community, serving both the Jackson County School System – where he taught robotics and volunteered with the band – and his church. He has assisted with several Barrow County service projects.
